Kid Cudi is a well-known American singer and rapper.

His real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi. He was born in the year 1984 on 30th Jan’ . His debut mixtape, A kid Named Cudi caught attention of many music lovers and he became famous overnight.  “Day n Nite” was another smash hit from him and it stayed on Hip-Hop charts & also Billboard Hot 100 for a good period of time.

Man on the Moon-The End of Day which was Kid Cudi’s debut album and it featured the song “Day ‘n’ Nite” also. Kid has worked with many well known music personalities. Some of them are Lady GaGa, Common, Kayne West and many others.

Kid spent his childhood in suburb of Shaker Heights, which is part of Cleveland, Ohio.  His father was World War II veteran and was a teacher by profession. Her mother is a teacher. Kid’s father passed away when he was only 11. This incident had a deep impact on Kid’ life, his music was also affected due to sudden demise of his father and he at one point of time decided to give it up.

When Kid was at Solon High School, he started practicing rapping. He was inspired by hip-hop groups like A Tribe Called Quest and The Pharcyde during his school days and he use to imitate their rapping. After he completed his studies, hew went to New York to pursue a career in music. Along with NY’s street-wear brand 10.Deep he made a mixtape by the name, A Kid Called Cudi. Kayne West liked Kid’s work and was impressed by him. He called Kid and convinced him to join the label GOOD Music.

Kid’s made a special appearance in Kayne’s west album 808s & Heartbreak, which was released in the year 2008. He helped Kayne in writing its two songs, “Paranoid” and “Heartless”, the music videos of these two songs were also released. Kid also sang the song “Welcome to Heartbreak”, along with Kayne.  This song reached at 87th position in Pop 100. Kid was given due recognition in various music medias such as Rolling Stone, The Source, XXLVibe.

He made his television debut in MTV’s Music Video Awards in the year 2008 along with DJ AM and Travis Barker. Kid was also seen on Snoop Dog’s talk show Dogg After Dark, telecasted on MTV. Kid also performed songs on BC’s Last Call with Carson Daly and mtvU’s Spring Break special. His popularity also made him guest on popular television shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Late Show with David Letterman.

In February 2009, Kid made a special appearance in the song “T.O.N.Y” along with Solange and later in the video of “I Gotta Feeling”, along with David Guetta. Kid also featured in magazine cover of couple of magazines, these were URB magazine and Complex Magazine

On 15th September 2009, Kid Cudi released his album Man on the Moon: The End of Day with the label of Universal Motown Records. This album sold more than hundred thousand copies in the first week itself and stood at fourth position. Kid’s greatest commercial success came from the song “Day ‘n’ Nite” which became an instant hit. “I Poke Her Face” was another popular number from this album. This song featured Common and Kayne West. It also contained samples of “Poker Face” which was sung by Lady GaGa.

Kid Cudi is also known to have good acting skills and he will soon be seen on television comedy series “How to Make it in America”. With so many abilities, this Kid surely has a bright future.
